DESCRIPTION:Prevention Link Activist Bundle at CLC Ontario School\nSunday\, July 20 to Friday\, July 25\, 2025\nThe Hamilton Convention Centre\n1 Summers Ln\, Hamilton\, ON L8P 4Y2 \nThis bundle of workshops will introduce participants to the unique challenges of electronic evidence\, the Workers’ Compensation system\, noteworthy case law\, and Human Rights legislation. The tools develop strategies to assist workers with disabilities\, individually and collectively\, and return them to long term healthy and productive employment. With a focus on the protected ground of disability and the social area of employment\, this training will advance a participant’s understanding of human rights legislation and the Duty to Accommodate. \nPrevention Link Certificates will be issued for:\nPrinciples of Accommodation Law\nWith a focus on the protected ground of disability and the social area of employment\, learn about rights\, obligations\, and principles of accommodation: respect for dignity\, individualization\, integration\, and full participation. \nWorkers’ Compensation 101\nThis workshop introduces participants to the compensation system in Ontario\, including time limits for dealing with issues are discussed and the process flow for claims and appeals are presented. \nElectronic Evidence\nElectronic evidence has become increasingly more common in recent years and WSIB accepts digital evidence and surveillance in audio\, video\, film\, and photographic formats. The unique challenges of this type of evidence will be explored in this workshop. \nReturn to Work 101\nGain the tools to develop strategies to assist workers with disabilities\, individually and collectively; and return them to long-term healthy and productive employment. \nWho is this course for: All workers are welcome! Workplace leadership encouraged! No pre-requisites required. \n\nLabour Education builds solidarity and knowledge\, and it creates meaningful bonds that last a lifetime. In these exciting weeks of learning\, union members will learn valuable skills in order to continue the fights of today’s workplaces\, allowing adults of all backgrounds to learn to defend their rights using proven methods.
