DESCRIPTION:Level 1 & Level 2 In-Person Training:\nWorkers’ Compensation Fundamentals\nLevels 1 and 2 are foundation courses that teach participants the workers’ compensation system in Ontario (WSIB). Once you complete Level 2\, you can take any level of our core curriculum\, in any order\, afterwards. \nLevel 1: Rights and Obligations\nThis introductory course explores the history of Ontario’s workers’ compensation system. Participants will learn the basics of a disability prevention framework\, including:\n• types of workplace injuries and occupational illnesses;\n• legal tests applied by the WSIB when considering entitlement;\n• methods to report an injury/illness and steps to initiative a claim;\n• reporting strategies\, including time limits and potential penalties; and\n• roles and responsibilities of workers\, worker reps\, and employers regarding return to work. \nLevel 2: Benefits and Services\nThis course delves into the significance of legislation (Workplace Safety & Insurance Act)\, regulations\, and policies.
