SUMMARY:Workers’ Compensation 101 - IN-PERSON
DESCRIPTION:Workers’ Compensation 101 In-Person Training 2024\, One-Day Model\n\nThis workshop introduces participants to the compensation system in Ontario\, the history and principles of compensation legislation and third party rights of action.\n\n\nKey definitions within the system are described\, including:  worker\, employer\, accident\, disablement\, recurrence\, secondary injuries\, aggravation\, occupational disease\, stress and chronic pain. \nParticipants will learn: \n\nInjury reporting;\nHow claims are filed;\nThe responsibilities of the workplace parties;\nThe role of medical professionals; and\nBenefits and services available to injured and ill workers.\n\nInformation on the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)\, including time limits for dealing with issues are discussed and the process flow for claims and appeals are presented. \nDEADLINE TO REGISTER:  May 21\, 2024.  There will be no exceptions to this deadline. The deadline has been established to allow Prevention Link to properly prepare for this course.\nCost: $149.00.
